Degremont offers a specific complete oxidation of liquid sludge technology

Degrémont, a subsidiary of Suez Lyonnaise des Eaux, and the Swiss company Granit have signed a partnership contract for the commercial development in Europe of a specific complete oxidation process for liquid sludge. This contract follows several years of technical co-operation between the companies in the area of wet-process oxidation.

In the oxidation of liquid sludge, oxygen is injected to mineralise the organic matter contained in the sludge resulting from urban and industrial wastewater treatment. The mineral residue complies with the current discharge standards.

The technology is the product of important industrial know-how and guarantees excellent performance.

The process has already been used in several industrial units and was recently implemented in a municipal treatment plant in Switzerland. It is particularly appropriate when agricultural sludge cannot be recycled and is an innovative alternative to traditional incineration or co-incineration solutions. The oxidation of liquid sludge completes Degrémont's sludge treatment offering.
