Azurix Buenos Aires S.A., one of the companies responsible for the supply
of water in the province of Buenos Aires, appointed Juan Martín Lutteral
as General Director and Chief Executive Officer.
Lutteral is 42 years old, holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration
from the University of Belgrano and until his appointment he served as
President of Ecopreneur S.A., an environmental engineering company, based
in Buenos Aires and with offices in Santiago, Chile and in San Pablo,
Brazil.
Azurix Buenos Aires S.A. new General Director and CEO has an important
participation in different associations of the water industry. He is President
of the Argentine Association for the Conservation of Water and its Environment,
he is Director of the Argentine Association of Sanitary Engineering, Chairman
of the Latin American Regional Committee of the Water Environment Federation
and member of the Water Academy.
The announcement was made by the President of the Board of Directors
of Azurix Buenos Aires S.A., Rodolfo Freyre, who pointed out that "Juan
Martín Lutteral's appointment allows us to complete the management team
who will be responsible for giving our customers the high quality service
that Azurix is accustomed to providing in each market it operates".
On July 1, 1999 Azurix Buenos Aires S.A. took over the operation of the
water and sewers services in many localities of the Province of Buenos
Aires where it currently serves a population of more than 1.5 million
inhabitants.
